Traditionally, couples tend to move to the suburbs when they are ready to start a family. However, this pattern is changing in Copenhagen with 19,000 more families living in the city in 2016 compared to 2000.
And Copenhagen might be the perfect city for you, if you prefer biking to work and playing in the park with your family. Amongst thousands of cities around the world, Copenhagen receives the highest score in the new ‘Family Index 2017’ conducted by the German-based real estate company Homeday
The survey is based on 16 categories such as city infrastructure, healthcare quality and activities for children. And Copenhagen receives top scores in the following categories:

Besides rating the cities based on the 16 categories, Homeday asked hundreds of parents and over 30,000 parenting experts how good their city is for raising a family.
Of all the cities in the survey, Copenhagen receives the highest scores when it comes to parent’s perception of living in the city. And Copenhagen takes a second place when it comes to the expert’s perception.
