COPENHAGEN SELECTED AS CLEANEST CITY OF EUROPE
At least, this is the opinion of tourists. For the second year running, travellers have voted London the dirtiest city in Europe – and Copenhagen the cleanest. The survey was conducted among readers of the TripAdvisors travel site, who voted Copenhagen Europe's cleanest city in its annual survey. 2,376 travellers participated in the survey, which saw 36 per cent of those taking part vote London the dirtiest city in Europe.
A further 9 per cent voted for Paris, placing it as the second dirtiest city in Europe.
And London performed poorly in other respects, too: this very popular destination was also ranked Europe's most expensive destination, the city with most tourist traps - and the city with the worst dressed people.
According to the survey, the best city in which to shop is Prague, while the friendliest city is Dublin and the most boring Brussels.
However, London produced a more positive showing in other respects: it was voted the capital with the best free attractions, the best public parks and the best nightlife.
Paris came out top as the city with the best dressed people and the best food. But it was also rated the least friendly city. And Paris lost out to Venice as the most romantic city.
Finally, Krakow in Poland was voted the most underestimated city.
