Copenhagen Capacity's Board of Directors

Copenhagen Capacity´s Board of Directors consists of 13 members. The board is composed on the basis of a fixed distribution:

  • The Regional Council of the Capital Region appoints 4 members.
  • The Municipality of Copenhagen appoints 1 member.
  • Local Government Denmark appoints 1 member.
  • The board members appoint 7 extra independent members.

A member can not be appointed to the board after reaching the age of 67 years.


Peter Højland

Peter Højland

Chairman. Joined the board in 2007, re-elected in 2013. Term of office expires in 2017. Appointed by the board. Born in 1950.

Peter Højland has been Chairman of Copenhagen Capacity’s board of directors since 2007. He has served as CEO of SAS Denmark, Superfos and Transmedica A/S, and he has held various directorships in Danish companies and organisations such as Danske Bank, Center for Ledelse (Chairman) and Amrop-Hever (Chairman). In 2003-2005, he was a member of the Welfare Commission appointed by the Danish government. Peter Højland is an adjunct professor at Copenhagen Business School (CBS), and he holds a BA degree in Economics & Business Administration from CBS.

Since 2009, Lars Gaardhøj has been a member of the Regional Council of the Capital Region elected for the Social Democratic Party and is currently a member of the Executive Committee and chairman of the Committee on Business, Commerce and Growth. Previously, he has worked as a NGO project coordinator and as a political advisor in the Danish Parliament. Lars Gaardhøj is now a consultant at AOF Denmark. He holds a master’s degree in Contemporary History from University of Southern Denmark.

Member of the Regional Council. Joined the board in 2010. Term of office expires in 2017. Appointed by the Regional Council of the Capital Region (the Conservative People's Party). Born in 1947.

Hans Toft is mayor of the Municipality of Gentofte and a member of the Regional Council of the Capital Region, representing the Conservative People's Party. Previously, he worked as Vice President and as a lawyer at Norsk Hydro Olie A/S for 17 years. From 1971 to 1975, Hans Toft was a member of the Danish Parliament. He holds a Master of Law from the University of Aarhus.
