02 March 2017
ICT and high tech industries
The Silicon Valley tech pioneer, Singularity University, has chosen Copenhagen for its first major hub outside the United States.
The new SingularityU Denmark is a 5,000m2 innovation hub in the heart of Copenhagen Science City. The hub will be home to social impactors, fast growing startups, corporates innovating on the edges, researchers, biohackers, gadget gurus and thought leaders.
Bridges global challenges and technological solutions
SingularityU Denmark is the first major innovation hub opened by Singularity University outside Silicon Valley. Last year, the organisation opened a 300m2 innovation hub in Eindhoven, Holland.
“Denmark is renowned for its skills in areas such as green tech, biotech, pharmaceutical sciences, telecommunications, IT and design. Singularity University bridges the gap between global challenges and technological solutions, and I am certain that SingularityU Denmark will contribute to accelerating Greater Copenhagen as a dynamic hub for startups, companies and researchers and prepare Denmark for the future. So a warm welcome to Copenhagen”, says Claus Lønborg, CEO, Copenhagen Capacity.
Accelerator programmes for startups
With over 370 impact initiatives, the Singularity University community is driving positive change in the areas of health, environment, security, prosperity, education, energy, food, water, space, disaster resilience, shelter and governance.
SingularityU Denmark works closely with the Copenhagen-based accelerator thinkubator and the Singularity University accelerator programmes at NASA Research Park in Silicon Valley.

The first startups have started moving into the Copenhagen facilities, and by the end of 2017, SingularityU Denmark is expecting to launch a full-blown accelerator programme helping entrepreneurs to develop and grow their ideas and companies.
