The European Innovation Scoreboard – previously the Innovation Union Scoreboard – provides a comparative analysis of innovation performance in EU Member States, other European countries, and regional neighbours.
Denmark takes the second place among the EU Member States, performing above the EU average in all dimensions. Most notably in:
Performance relative to the EU has increased from 26% above the EU average in 2008 to 34% in 2015.
In the 2016 Scoreboard, Denmark’s performance has improved for 14 indicators and on average most strongly in the dimensions human resources (5.3%) and economic effects (3.4%). Performance has declined in finance and support (- 2.0%), due to a decline in venture capital investments.
