Denmark is up four spots to sixth place in the global UNCTAD B2C E-commerce Index, with 98 percent of Danes using the Internet and 84 per cent of Danes making purchases online.
The UNCTAD B2C E-commerce Index scores 152 nations on their preparedness to support online shopping.
Countries are scored on the access to secure internet servers, the reliability of postal services and infrastructure, and the portion of their population that uses the internet and has an account with a financial institution or mobile-money-service provider.

The Danes love to shop online
Denmark is the world’s sixth best country in terms of readiness for online shopping with:
- 100% of Danes holding an account at a financial institution or with a mobile-money-service provider
- 98% of Danes using the Internet
- 84% of Danes making purchases online
- Postal reliability well above average (scoring 79 out of 100)
- 100% secure Internet servers
