Copenhagen Capacity Joins the UN Global Compact

We are proud to announce that Copenhagen Capacity has joined the UN Global Compact and will work even more systematically with sustainability in the future.

At Copenhagen Capacity, we worked for several years to strengthen sustainability efforts internally and externally with our investment promotion efforts – bringing more sustainable companies to Eastern Denmark. And now – we will increase our efforts even further.

At Copenhagen Capacity, we are actively working to become even more sustainable. We do this internally within our organisation as we involve the employees in ensuring a sustainable approach in everything we do and among the thousands of jobs we secure annually throughout Denmark. As a member of the UN Global Compact, we will become part of a network of companies and organisations that want to inspire each other and contribute to a more sustainable world.

Increased focus on sustainability pays off

Last year, Copenhagen Capacity had a record-breaking year. We secured 1,601 new jobs directly, with additional 4,439 jobs as indirect results of our efforts. Just years before, Copenhagen Capacity reformed its strategy to focus more on sustainable cases and attract sustainable companies to Eastern Denmark who will contribute to the region’s sustainable ecosystems. This shows that our sustainability strategy is working.

It has been a great privilege to focus more on sustainability at Copenhagen Capacity – because it is a position of strength for our region and the entire country. I can, therefore, encourage our current and future partners to invest more in sustainability and join the UN Global Compact. Together we can spread the message of sustainability.

About the UN Global Compact

The UN Global Compact is a voluntary initiative based on CEO commitments to implement universal sustainability principles and to take steps to support UN goals. Global Compact Network Denmark (GCDK) is the local network for Danish companies and organisations that have joined the UN's Global Compact. Based on the Ten Principles and 17 Sustainable Development Goals, UN Global Compact works to facilitate Danish companies' work with social responsibility, which creates value for both business and society. Their task is to facilitate knowledge sharing between the Danish Global Compact members and give them inspiration and tools on their journey and in their work with sustainability.
