SAS has opened two new international routes to Sweden’s capital, Stockholm, from the two major airports located in Jutland – Aalborg and Billund.
"We at Billund Airport are pleased with the new route to Stockholm Arlanda, a location where SAS offers good connections to the rest of the world," spokesperson of Billund Airport, Anders Nielsen states. "Moreover, the increased travel capacity to and from Stockholm allows leisure and business travellers to take part in the tourism and business potential offered by both Denmark and Sweden."
The opening of the new routes to Stockholm is in line with SAS' plan to increase flights between major cities within Scandinavia.
"We have seen a rising demand from customers around the two airports for direct access to their destinations" Flemming Jensen, chief operating officer in SAS explains. "It’s a demand we would like to fill."
From Billund, SAS has a direct route to Oslo and will now offer flights to Stockholm two times a day, six days a week. In Aalborg, SAS offers travellers four weekly departures to Stockholm.
