The transport and logistics company Dachser Nordic is named German Company of the Year 2017 for contribution to renewing the industry, by Copenhagen Capacity, Invest in Denmark and the Danish-German Chamber of Commerce.
“We are incredibly proud of this award and for being nominated together with two strong fellow candidates. The German Company of the Year 2017 award is a milestone for us, because it shows that the hard work, performed by everyone at Dachser Denmark every day, is valuable not only for our customers but also for Danish business. This recognition will inspire and motivate our continued innovations so that we can keep delivering intelligent logistics solutions to the Danish market,” Finn Skovbo Pedersen, Managing Director of Dachser Nordic, says.
The Danish Minister of Foreign Affairs, Anders Samuelsen, announced the winner and handed over the German Company of the Year 2017 award to Finn Skovbo Pedersen, Managing Director of Dachser Nordic, on 1 June.

The German Company of the Year award honours select German companies who have contributed significantly to fostering growth and progress in Denmark through extraordinary growth rates, innovation or significant investments.
“Dachser Nordic won the German Company of the Year award 2017 because of their big success in Denmark and its important position in the Danish transport and logistics industry - a position built in just a few years. The company currently employs more than 210 employees in Kolding and Copenhagen, and the Copenhagen office is moreover Danish and Nordic headquarters. From 2011 to 2015, the number of employees rose by 7.5% and revenues by 33%. This is a remarkable development and shows a strong, constant customer focus”, Claus Lønborg, CEO, Copenhagen Capacity, says.

Thomas Højlund Christensen, Commercial Director, Invest in Denmark, adds:
“Dachser is a strong and innovative player in the Danish transport and logistics industry. The company is a worthy winner because it shows significant growth in both number of employees, revenue and earnings. Also, Dachser pushes innovation and challenges existing procedures in the Danish transport and logistics industry by introducing new solutions. In fact, Denmark was the first country in which the Dachser Group introduced longer combination vehicles, in a project in collaboration with the Danish authorities”
It is the second time, Copenhagen Capacity, Invest in Denmark, and the Danish-German Chamber of Commerce awards the German Company of the Year. This year the interest was strong with 22 applicants from a wide range of sectors and company sizes.
Reiner Perau, Managing Director of the Danish-German Chamber of Commerce, says:
“We received many excellent applications from many different industries, and it was difficult to shortlist three companies. The three finalists, Dachser, GROHE and SSI Schäfer, all excel according to the criteria of growth, innovation and investment and are great examples of how an innovative approach and a high level of ambition can create jobs and success in Denmark”.
