World’s largest hydrogen fuelling station factory opens in Denmark
19 April 2016
H2 Logic’s new factory facility in Denmark will be the world’s largest to date. When ramp-up and plant optimisation is complete, the facility will have a production capacity of up to 300 hydrogen fuelling stations per year.
The factory will be prepared for the next generation hydrogen fuelling technology (H2Station®), offering major breakthroughs in areas such as increased fuelling capacity and performance, reduced footprint as well as potential for significant cost reductions.
H2 Logic has delivered more than 25 hydrogen fuelling stations to seven countries in Europe. During the past six months, the company has opened three filling stations in Denmark in addition to its six stations around the country
The new plant will have a production capacity of up to 300 hydrogen fuelling stations per year, which is enough to fuel 200,000 hydrogen cars annually.
Growth capital from Innovation Fund Denmark
In 2011, the Innovation Fund Denmark invested 2.95 million EUR in a research project, including H2 Logic. The principal research objective was to discover a safe, effective and inexpensive way to store hydrogen, both as high-pressure gas and as a solid.
The then unknown start-up proved a great investment, and is a prime example of a successful cash injection from the Innovation Fund Denmark.
Innovation Fund Denmark invested 1.6 billion DKK in new initiatives to create growth and employment in Denmark in 2015.
