Taiwanese GlobalWafers Co. acquires Danish Topsil Semiconductor Materials

The acquisition serves to pave the way for the companies to become the best silicon wafer suppliers in the world.

The world-leading silicon wafer manufacture GlobalWafers Co., Ltd., has aquired Topsil Semiconductor Materials A/S, a world-leading supplier of ultra pure silicon to the global semiconductor industry, based in Greater Copenhagen. The companies have been working closely together for almost 20 years and with the acquisition, the relationship will be even further strengthened.

The acquisition will enable GlobalWafers Co., Ltd. to expand its operation into float zone wafers and consolidate its global position within the semiconductor industry:
