Denmark’s most promising startup companies and Europe’s large venture capitalist funds meet in Copenhagen.
On Monday 19 November, the Danish Startup Council will kick-start a series of 12 Copenhagen-based events where Denmark’s most promising startup companies will pitch their business ideas and plans to selected large European venture capitalist funds.
The buzz is all about Copenhagen
Foreign investors are increasingly looking towards Scandinavia, especially Copenhagen, to find innovative startup companies to invest in.
“The buzz about especially Copenhagen has been big, lately. We would love to attract even more foreign investment to Denmark, and we see a clear increase in focus from large international players. In recent years, a number of large venture capital funds have created Nordic teams scouting for promising startup companies in the Nordics”, said Kristian Justesen, Managing Director at Rainmaking Loft Copenhagen that has initiated the Danish Startup Council with financial support from the Danish Business Authority.
Business plans of global scale
The shortlisted startups has been carefully selected by the members of the Danish Startup Council, which is comprised by Danish universities and startup networks with knowledge of the entrepreneur talent in Denmark.
Only startups with a business model of global scale have been granted an entry ticket to meeting with the venture capitalist funds via the Danish Startup Council.
