London Tech Advocates starts up in Copenhagen

Tech London Advocates launches Nordic and Baltic Group headquartered in Copenhagen on 4 November. This is the organisation’s first non-UK operation.

Tech London Advocates, the UK private-sector led tech group with more than 2,100 senior tech leaders, entrepreneurs and investors from 20 countries, is launching its first non-UK operation in the Nordics and Baltics. The launch event of Tech Nordic Advocates will take place on 4 November in Copenhagen, where the organisation will also be based.

Copenhagen is the tech hub in Nordics

“There is large growth potential in the tech area in the Nordics and Baltics. Copenhagen is the leading hub, which is also why the world’s largest Fintech event, Money 20/20, will take place in Copenhagen in April 2016, for the first time outside of the USA. The presence of Tech Nordic Advocates will build scale and aid access to talent and investment across borders in the region further, and I am very happy about this decision”, says Claus Lønborg, CEO, Copenhagen Capacity – Invest in Greater Copenhagen.

Boosting entrepreneurship

Tech Nordic Advocates will lead events, initiatives and activities to boost entrepreneurship, improve access to startup finance and support, and foster tech sector collaboration across the Nordic and Baltic region.

Key to this are Tech Nordic Advocates’s advocate-led working groups, where members discuss opportunities, address obstacles and table motions to policy makers in areas such as:

  • Smart city/Urban innovation
  • FinTech
  • CleanTech
  • Startup support
  • Women in tech.
