Copenhagen companies to help Milan towards green transition

The Lord Mayor of Copenhagen, Frank Jensen, has signed a green co-operation agreement with Giuliano Pisapia, the Lord Mayor of Milan. Copenhagen companies are to help Milan become a better city for pedestrians and cyclists.
The widespread use of motorized vehicles in Italy causes major problems with congestion, noise and pollution in big Italian cities. Now Milan is looking to Copenhagen’s sustainable urban solutions in order to reduce the number of vehicles and increase the number of pedestrians in the city centre.
According to Frank Jensen, the Lord Mayor of Copenhagen, the co-operation agreement with the Lord Mayor of Milan, Giuliano Pisapia, create many great opportunities.
-Just like Copenhagen, Milan has strong green growth ambitions. I’m very pleased that Milan has chosen to look to Copenhagen for inspiration on how to make the city more bike-friendly and attain a better quality of life for its citizens. This will strengthen green Copenhagen companies and create jobs, says Frank Jensen.
The Copenhagen companies will contribute know-how and technological solutions, which will assist in transforming Milan from a noisy traffic hub into a recreational zone.
