Danske Bank wants to popularize a seldom sought after funding source. Danske Bank wants to kick start the corporate bond market and help Danish medium-sized enterprises obtain funding for EUR 3.3 billion.
The setup is patterned on Norwegian and Swedish financing models, and the Confederation of Danish Industry (DI), investors and pension funds are pleased with the announcement, writes the Danish newspaper Børsen. -It is very positive that Danske Bank proactively and constructively contributes to providing Danish business with medium-term financing, says Kent Damsgaard, executive vice president of DI.
The exclusive grip must be made general According to Danske Bank, negotiations have started with the first top 200 enterprises that are interested in corporate bond financing, and a special team will handle the issuances. Until now, only major companies such as A.P Møller-Mærsk and Carlsberg have made use of this financing option.
