Copenhagen’s Climate Adaptation Plan stands out internationally
25 July 2013
In a group of 1.000 nominations from more than 70 countries, the Copenhagen Climate Adaptation Plan is among the finalists for the world’s largest design award, INDEX: Award 2013.
The winner will be appointed by an international jury at the end of August. The climate adaptation plan will be exhibited worldwide and the American media group CNN has already announced a series of programs about the finalists.
In addition to being a finalist in the world’s largest design award, the Danish capital has just been admitted into one of the world’s leading climate networks, known as ‘Connecting Delta Cities’. Along with New York, Buenos Aires and 13 other cities, Copenhagen is going to share knowledge and best practices and present Danish climate adaptation solutions.
The implementation of the Copenhagen Climate Adaptation Plan is already well on its way. In the plan, experts have assessed the biggest challenges and where Copenhagen as a city can derive the greatest benefit from taking action now and in the coming years. The climate plan is closely interlinked with Copenhagen’s other key plans for green, sustainable, social and economic development.
