Copenhagen has Scandinavia's best university

The University of Copenhagen is the best university in the Nordic countries. That is the conclusion of the QS World University Rankings from its international ranking of the world's foremost universities.

The University of Copenhagen is ranked 45th on the list while the highest-ranking universities in Sweden, Finland and Norway are placed 67th, 69th and 89th respectively.

Reputation and research
The QS World University Rankings considers more than 2,000 universities and evaluates more than 700 to rank the world's best and compares rankings by region, subject, academic field, research, reputation and other criteria.

The University of Copenhagen is Denmark's largest research and educational institution with nearly 35,000 students. Aarhus University is at number 91 on the list, and the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) is at number 134.

The list is topped by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Harvard in the US, and Cambridge in the UK.
