The Novo Nordisk foundation is donating DKK 280 million to Danish research and development
The money will be used for research into stem cells and the development of biopharmaceutical products at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU).
DTU inaugurated a center last year which focuses on the above-mentioned areas of research and the center will receive DKK 700 million in funding from Novo over the next ten years.
If the research, which is globally unique, yields results, it will provide a less expensive way of producing antibodies, used partly for the battle against cancer and psoriasis.
Since 2007, the Novo Nordisk Foundation has donated DKK 2.9 billion to the establishment of a national bio-bank and four research centers in biotechnology.
