Danish export of auto components close to record levels

Significant increase in exports of Danish car components to round off 2011

Large carmakers in Europe have had a good year and this is reflected in positive figures for their suppliers, including many Danish firms, writes the Berlingske daily newspaper

-Our sales to the auto business have been very good. We have particularly seen a growth in revenue on the Russian market which we expect to continue. This is one of the markets that Danish companies have fought to penetrate, but we have now managed to gain access to this market both with radiators and climate-control products, says Rikke Kroer Høberg, Director of Nissens A/S.

The export of car components constitutes a small percentage of total Danish exports, but the development is nonetheless extraordinary. Over the first ten months of 2011, Danish exports of car components grew by 7 percent compared to the previous year, and in 2010 the overall increase was 10 percent.
