Innovation Fund Denmark supports young entrepreneurs
21 1月 2015
Innovation Fund Denmark has selected 40 young entrepreneurs whose business ideas will receive coaching and funding to become growth companies. The idea catalogue includes ergonomic seats, water treatment solutions and special drones for agriculture
Innovation Fund Denmark has selected the 40 most promising young entrepreneurs among 500 applicants from higher education institutions in Denmark.
“The quality of the business ideas is very impressive. We selected the most innovative ones which we believe have the potential to create growth and become sound businesses”, says Jørgen Bardenfleth, chair of the panel who assisted Innovation Fund Denmark in the selection process.
The Minister for Education and Research, Sofie Carsten Nielsen, stresses the importance of spotting talent and encouraging entrepreneurship among students of higher educational institutions:
“Even the most brilliant ideas need funding and support to be implemented. This initiative makes it far easier for young entrepreneurs to take their ideas from thought to reality, and I hope it will inspire even more graduates to take the plunge”.
12 months coaching programme
On 1 February 2015, the 40 entrepreneurs, who are studying at universities, university colleges, arts colleges and business academies, will begin a 12 months coaching programme, including:
- A personal mentor, for example a business owner who has made the journey from entrepreneur to successful business owner.
- Workshops on relevant topics.
- Access to office and meeting facilities.
- A monthly scholarship of DKK 14,473 for up to 12 months.
- A special bursary of DKK 35,000 for purchasing advice, equipment and materials.
