FILM CREW MOVES INTO COPENHAGEN

These days, hundreds of cameramen, production assistants, advertising people and car expert have moved into Copenhagen, which provides the setting for a film production in the highest gear. The French carmaker Citroën has selected the bicycle city Copenhagen as the location for a global advert, which is to brand the new environmentally friendly C4 model to billions of television viewers around the world.

To present the new model with reduced particle emission, the advert will show a car in a large city, which during the film will be followed by more and more cyclists. That is why Citroën needed a great bicycle city in which to film the advert. 

- Normally, the major campaigns are produced in London, New York or Paris. Here, the whole international film caravan has been moved to Copenhagen, because you have to have a city that has cyclists as a natural part of the infrastructure," says Christian Bévort, Managing Director of Moland Film Company, which has received the prestigious task of producing the film. 

It is not just advertising industry, which have reason to be excited. Copenhagen has recently gained increasing international recognition from Noma’s crowning as the world's best restaurant to the magazine Monocle ranking of Copenhagen as the world's second best city.

- Such an advert gives us a branding, of which we can be tremendously happy. And the fact that it is about sustainability and bicycles is just icing on the cake, Communications Manager at Wonderful Copenhagen, Anéh Christina Hajdu, says.
