THE SWEDES ARE PUSHING FOR A NEW ØRESUND BRIDGE

In late March, the Swedish government launched a new plan for the country's infrastructure. The plan includes investments of 482 billion Swedish kroner and some of that money the Swedes would like to spend on building a bridge or tunnel between Helsingør and Helsingborg.
Sweden pushing for a new connection
For years Sweden has tried to get Denmark to engage in another permanent connection, which is to connect Sweden with Europe by means of high speed trains.
- The Øresund Region is a success. It is the largest region in the North both in terms of jobs and inhabitants, and a permanent connection between Helsingør and Helsingborg would only make sense, says Christian Tanggaard Ingemann, Director of the Danish Chamber of Commerce.
