NEW ROUTE FROM COPENHAGEN TO NEW YORK
Jun. 2, 2010 | Topic: Location and infrastructureDelta Air Lines has just opened the first direct route between Copenhagen Airport and New York's busiest airport JFK, thus improving accessibility to the entire North America significantly.
The ability to get to and from New York City - and to the rest of the U.S. improved significantly, when Delta Air Lines, announced its plans to open a new route to one of its major hubs JFK, New York.
Delta opens up for America
Delta Airlines already flies directly from Copenhagen to its second hub in Atlanta. With 200 destinations alone out of Atlanta and JFK to all of America, Latin America and the Caribbean, the new route strengthens the links to attractive destinations for the benefit of tourism and business.
- New intercontinental routes are very important for our position as Scandinavia's leading hub and our ability to offer the best connections in Scandinavia. With seven direct routes CPH now offers the best connections to North America from Scandinavia. We are pleased that this new route strengthens CPH's position as the hub and thus improves accessibility to the U.S. market through Delta's many further links, says CEO of Copenhagen Airports Brian Petersen.
In addition, Egypt Air opens a direct route to Cairo later this year, which will close an important gap in the route network from Copenhagen Airport. It is really good news for the Danish business sector, which, along with the tourism industry, will benefit from the increased accessibility to Egypt and Africa.
