MORE INTERCONTINENTAL ROUTES FROM COPENHAGEN

Jun. 30, 2010 | Topic: Location and infrastructure

SAS’s long-haul routes are popular, and the company has thus decided to insert an extra aircraft. The decision strengthens Copenhagen Airport's position as a hub.

From the winter 2010 programme SAS adds an extra aircraft to a number of intercontinental routes to North America and Asia, which means that the company can increase the number of departures on the routes from Copenhagen to New York, Chicago, Bangkok and Dubai, and on the route from Stockholm to New York.

- In regards to the competition with other big network companies, it is important for SAS to offer its customers daily flights to the main intercontinental destinations. Therefore, it is encouraging that SAS increases the number of intercontinental flights, Copenhagen Airport's Sales Director Carsten Nørland states, while stressing that more intercontinental flights also strengthen Copenhagen Airport's position as a north European hub.
