EGYPT AIR BRINGS GOOD NEWS

May 28, 2010 | Topic: Location and infrastructure

When Egypt Air opens a direct route to Cairo in October, an important gap in the route network from Copenhagen Airport is closed. It is really good news for the Danish business sector, which, along with the tourism industry, will benefit from the increased accessibility to Egypt and Africa.

The 1 October 2010 Egypt Air opens a direct route to Cairo, and thus connects CPH directly to Africa. With Egypt Air's extensive route network, this route opens up for, not only all of Egypt, but for destinations such as South Africa, Kenya, Tanzania and the Middle East. Accessibility to these destinations and Cairo in particular is thus strengthened significantly, which is of great benefit to both the Danish companies who have business there, but also for the Danish business community in general.

- International accessibility through direct routes to and from overseas destinations is vital for Danish industry. A direct air route between Cairo and Copenhagen will contribute to increased availability at a time when accessibility is challenged. This route provides a great contribution to securing Danish business interests in Egypt, says director of the DI Transportation, Michael Swan.

There will be three weekly flights, which will be Wednesday, Friday and Sunday departing from Copenhagen at 15:45 o’clock and from Cairo at 10:00 o’clock.
