DANISH AIRSPACE REOPENED
Apr. 21, 2010 | Topic: Location and infrastructureNaviair, supplier of air traffic services in Denmark, has announced that the Danish airspace will be opened for to all air traffic from Wednesday morning 11 am till Thursday morning 2 am.
It is the first time since last Thursday, when air traffic was paralyzed as a result of the ash cloud from the eruption of the Icelandic volcano Eyjafjallajökull, that the Danish airspace has been subject to a total reopening and all flights have been authorized, the Danish newspaper, Politiken, writes.
Permit extension
Naviair first released air traffic until 11 am. this morning, but now they have chosen to extend the permit. And this time, the permit is valid for all trafic in Danish airspace.
The permission to reopen the airspace follows a reopening of many European airports, which have slowly begun to release more and more flights all over Europe. Yesterday, Cimber conducted a test flight, and so far everything indicates that the aircraft was not in any way damaged by the ash cloud.
