CULTURE AND ATTRACTIONS
Frederiksberg is an attractive place for locals as well as tourists. Frederiksberg is an old city that has kept up with time, as witnessed by the mix of old baroque architecture and modern design. The city is known for having plenty of shopping opportunities, from upmarket designer goods to bargain items. There are also many cosy cafés and restaurants, ranging from sophisticated dining establishments with Michelin star ratings to humble pubs that ooze conviviality.
An outdoor experience
In the summer, Frederiksberg Palace Gardens and Søndermarken provide the setting for a large number of cultural events for adults and children alike. The Palace Gardens can be explored on foot or by rowing boat on the garden canals. One extremely popular attraction in the Greater Copenhagen area is Copenhagen Zoo, which is also situated in the Frederiksberg Palace Gardens. As well as the many outdoor activities in the parks and on the canals, Frederiksberg also has an abundance of museums that are well worth a visit.
Frederiksberg is characterised by the coexistence of past and present in a lively, dynamic setting.
