Denmark in global design top five

According to a Finnish report, the competitiveness of Danish design is among the best in the world. Denmark ranks 5th globally, ahead of all the other Nordic countries.
As a design nation, in three years Denmark has climbed from a position as number nine to a position as number five in competitiveness within design. This is the conclusion reached by “Global Design Watch 2006”, prepared by Designium at the University of Art and Design in Helsinki, reports Børsen.
Topping the list is Japan, the USA, Germany and Switzerland – followed by Denmark, ahead of all the other Nordic countries.
The study looked at how national design programmes influence the competitiveness of the design sector and reflects the Danish government’s increased investment in design.
