Mercer: Copenhagen one of the world’s best cities to live in

According to a new survey, Zurich is the best city in the world to live in – however, Copenhagen is also doing very well, ranking 11th in the world and top among northern European cities.
Residents of Copenhagen have good reason to hold their heads high. According to the latest survey published by Mercer Human Resource Consulting in London, Copenhagen ranks 11th among the world’s best cities.
The survey is part of a worldwide quality of life analysis, which each year ranks 350 cities taking into account 39 criteria. Each city is rated according to political, social, economic and environmental factors, as well as personal safety and health, education, transport and other public services.
With New York given a rating of 100, the latest survey – carried out in autumn 2005 - gives the Swiss city of Zurich the highest score with 108.2, closely followed by another Swiss city, Geneva, with 108.1.
