Nokia to develop more mobile phones in Copenhagen
14-06-2005

IT and high tech industries:

The Danish research and development department of Nokia, the world’s most important mobile telephone producer, continues to grow and at the end of 2004 the number of employees totalled 1,039 – an increase of four per cent compared with the previous year, writes Computerworld online.

The number of assignments allocated to Nokia’s Danish subsidiary grew by even more, with turnover increasing by 12 per cent to more than 200 million euros.

At Nokia’s head office in Finland, Anna Svensson, Head of the Information Department was full of praise for the Danish subsidiary’s design and development department in Copenhagen.

“We have an immensely skilled development department that is involved in the design and production of a quite novel part of Nokia’s new telephone range, so it is a progressive department,” she says.

The development department is by far the largest part of Nokia’s business in Denmark, where in 2004 total turnover was almost 400 million euros and profitability nearly 12 million euros.
