Currency
Although Denmark is a member of the EU, Denmark has chosen to keep its own currency, the Danish Krone (DKK). The DKK is however pegged to the Euro so that only minor exchange rate fluctuations can take place. The EUR/DKK exchange rate is approx. 1/7.5.
You can exchange currency in banks and in foreign exchange bureaus, such as Forex, which is located at amongst other the Copenhagen Central Station and the City Hall Square.

Banking days and opening hours
Banks are open Monday to Friday from 10 am to 4 pm, except Thursdays, where banks close a bit later, i.e. at 5 or 6 pm. Cash is available from ATM’s from approx. 6 am to 2 am. ATM’s are located outside most banks.
Tipping customs
Tipping is not required, as service charges are automatically added to the bill.
Crime and corruption
The level of crime is relatively low in Copenhagen. Thus, one can in general safely walk the streets at night and use public transportation. Bribing and corruption is almost non-existent, indicated by Denmark’s third place in this category in the annual IMD World Competitiveness Yearbook 2005 (top ranking = bribing and corruption does not exist in the economy).
