Broadcom opens European centre in Copenhagen
29-03-2005

IT and high tech industries:

California-based Broadcom Corporation, a provider of wired and wireless broadband communications semiconductors, has established a new design centre in Copenhagen, writes newsletter IPAWorld.

The centre will develop technology for Broadcom's Mobile & Wireless Group, including handsets that will feature 2G and 3G cellular and Bluetooth(R) technologies as well as mobile multimedia capabilities.

The Copenhagen design centre is the first wireless design centre established by Broadcom in Europe. Broadcom says it selected the Copenhagen location based on its proximity to a number of leading cellular equipment manufacturers.

Broadcom, headquartered in Irvince, California, is one of the world's largest fabless semiconductor companies, with annual revenue of more than USD 2 billion.
