New central Scandinavian storage facilities and thorough restructuring was not only a financial gain for L'Oréal. It also enabled the big French cosmetics company to develop improved quality services with fast delivery times, better educated staff and efficient management in both Denmark, Sweden and Norway.

After analysing the situation it was clear that it would be profitable to establish one common Scandinavian storage and distribution centre instead of operating facilities in Copenhagen, Malmo and Oslo.

Peter Trabolt, Operations Director Scandinavia from L’Oreal, was assisted by Copenhagen Capacity during the decision process. He explains:

– It was a rather simple calculation. We get all our goods from Southern Europe, so the location in Copenhagen was the most suitable. It worked from day one, and the new storage facilities have enabled us to offer a much faster and more precise delivery service.

Besides establishing a common storage space, the three countries also needed a new common IT-system and the integration of a range of other functions such as administration, logistics and finance.

– We have definitely reached our goals.  We have achieved financial gains, we are able to attract more qualified people and we have obtained a better dialogue with our customers. All in all we have a better and more solid organisation today, concludes Peter Trabolt.
