THE WORLD’S LARGEST WIND FARM IS TO BE COMPLETED IN 2009

Jul. 16, 2009

In spring 2008 DONG Energy commenced the construction of the new wind farm Horns rev 2. The wind park, when ready, will be the world’s largest.

According to DONG Energy, the wind park is to be completed for production before COP15 Copenhagen - The United Nations’ Climate Change Conference in December 2009.

The world’s largest wind park
Horns rev 2 is located offshore in the North Sea approximately 30 kilometers from Blåvandshuk, which is the most western point of Denmark. With its 91 wind turbines, it will have a production capacity of 209 MW and an expected annual production of 800 GWh. This corresponds to the annual electrical consumption of approximately 200,000 households.
