Denmark top scorer on working satisfaction
13-05-2008
Society and living:
Danish employees are the most satisfied people. In a new survey with 22,000 employees from 20 countries, Denmark scores top ranking for the seventh consecutive year with regard to working satisfaction, writes the news portal Idag.dk.
The survey, European Employee Index (EEI), published by DI together with the consultancy house Ennova, shows that it is the solving of the daily tasks which are the most important ones compared to employment conditions such as salary, cooperation and the company’s reputation when the employees rank their job satisfaction. However, the Danish companies also have obvious things they need to improve.
The employees in the Danish companies do not think the companies are good at talent cultivation. The year’s survey shows that an imbalance exists between the employees’ expectations to the professional and personal challenges and the talent development, which the employers are actually offering.
Influence on the daily work is also the decisive factor with regard to absence due to sickness. The more influence the employee has in the planning of his/her daily work the less sickness.
