The Nordic countries aim to have a turnover of DKK 129 billion this year on IT
18-03-2008
IT and high tech industries:
The turnover on IT services in the Nordic countries will reach EUR 17 billion in 2008. This is an increase of 4.9 per cent compared with last year when the entire turnover reached EUR 16.2 billion.
The analysis house Gartner is predicting this. Iceland was not included in the report, which concentrates on Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark, writes Computerworld.
“The Nordic region is a minor, but technologically advanced market. This makes the region a good test market for the rest of Europe,” says Gartner analyst Susanne Karlsson.
The largest service areas will continue to be development and integration in 2008. These areas alone will make a turnover of EUR 5.3 billion.
IT management and IT outsourcing presently form a minor part.
However, Gartner expects that these areas will grow faster than the others in line with the IT industry securing more long-term contracts on infrastructure and application management.
