Copenhagen as a top-knowledge region
22-02-2008
Human resources and know how:
The University of Copenhagen, The Technical University of Denmark and The Capital Region are presently to open a joint office in Brussels which is to assist by canalising more money from the huge EU research funds to Danish research, including money also from the giant seventh framework programme. Up until 2013, the EU funds will distribute EUR 7½ billion to companies and research institutions.
The joint office is a first step in a strategic commitment which is to turn the Danish capital into an international top-knowledge region. Moreover, this year work is to start, resulting in more research housing for international researchers in the region just as Copenhagen is to attract more science congresses and meetings, writes Børsen Business Daily.
The collaboration is to take place within five defined principal fields: inter-disciplinary research and innovation projects, research infrastructure and research services, research education, technology transfer and commercialisation as well as international profiling of the Capital Region.
