Literally, it is a company with a powerful suction that is to open its head office in Copenhagen.

The German company Vacu3000 has namely selected to locate its marketing and sales activities in the Danish Capital. The sales company SDW Cooperation will utilise Denmark as its selling platform for its newly developed vacuum product VacuLine.

- The sale of VacuLine in Europe is to be handled out of Copenhagen. To a small company with a newly developed product the German market is quite simply too expensive to start with. Here Denmark is perfect as a starting platform and later you can spread your activities, because after all it is easier to assess a market with five million consumers than the huge German market, says Benny Sørensen who is Copenhagen Capacity’s German collaboration partner.

Hays
The international recruiting company Hays opened an office in downtown Copenhagen on 1 February and here ten staff will start searching the Danish labour market for specialists within the area such as IT, accounting and finance, banking and insurance, human resource and administration, sale and marketing, technique and engineering, construction and estate as well as the pharmaceutical industry.

Copenhagen Capacity has assisted Hays in preparing market analyses and establishing their office by creating contact to real estate agents, bank and other relevant players.

- Out aim is to be 50 employees in Copenhagen within the next four years and in the long run we will consider the entire country as one market, says Caroline Patychakis.

Alkalon
Another pharmaceutical company is now being launched in the Øresund Region.

It is the company Alkalon which is founded by Pharmasist Bo Tandrup who has been working on getting it up and running for approximately one year. He has selected to establish Alkalon’s head office in Copenhagen to have the operation of the company here whereas research and development are placed in Helsingborg.

- The head office is in Copenhagen, because the infrastructure in relation to the external world is the best, and because we have experienced the best investment climate here. However, by being represented on both sides of the Øresund we hope to attract the best brains within our business area from both Denmark and Sweden, says Bo Tandrup who was assisted by Copenhagen Capacity with his business development plan, among other things identification of potential investors, capital raise and fine-tuning of the company’s business plan. Alkalon is financed by a syndicate of Danish investors of which SeedCapital plays a central role.
