Top grades to Danish research centre

Four research centres under Danish National Research Foundation get outstanding opinions from international experts who in a evaluation estimate that several are top class on a worldwide scale. All have been large research successes and one of them, the Centre for Experimental Bio Informatics, tops the world league table within its area.
Its is largely thanks to the large long term grant from the Danish National Research Foundation that we have achieved the results that have made us world leading within our business area to day,” states Matthias Mann, former leader of the centre and now Managing Director for the Max Planck Institute for Biochemicals.
The Research Foundation supports high class centres for five to ten years. Through the years 68 centres have received grants at totally DKK 3.8 billion. The four centres in the evaluation have received DKK254 million. The other centres in the evaluation are: the Department of Plant Biology, the Centre for Fastphase Organic chemistry and the Centre for Catalysis. Ritzau
